The Financial Planning Association has several membership categories to choose from to suit the different stages of your career:
- Financial Planner ($395/year) - practicing in the profession for more than five years
- New to the Profession ($225/year) - practicing in the profession for less than five years
- Full-time Student ($35/year) - enrolled as full-time student
- Associated Professional ($295/year) - professionals who support the financial planning profession but do not hold themselves out to be financial planners
- Faculty ($145/year) - academics who teach full-time at an educational institution
- International ($35/year) - professionals who do not reside in the United States
