Evolution of a Financial Planner
Presented by Mike Vitkauskas, Money Tree Software
This session shares the story of a long career in financial planning that began in 1965. After moving to Oregon in 1972, our speaker became involved with the local IAFP chapter and helped rebuild and strengthen its presence in the state. In 1981, he developed a financial planning software program that was later marketed as Money Tree Software, supporting advisors in their day-to-day work. He retired in 2009, offering decades of experience and perspective on the profession’s growth and change.
Learning Objectives
Meet our Speaker: As probably the earliest person in the group to be involved in financial planning, I hope listeners will benefit from sharing my experiences. I have gone through good and trying times, seen many changes and perhaps can share a few thoughts that can help you on your own evolution as a financial planner.
10:30 am - 11:30 am
EOS - Practical Tools to Grow Your Practice & Serve Your Clients
Presented by Mike Urness, EOS Worldwide
In this session, participants will gain a practical understanding of the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) and the core tools that can help sustainably grow a financial planning practice. Attendees will explore how these tools can be implemented immediately, regardless of firm size, to create greater clarity, accountability, and traction. The session will also cover how EOS can support clients who own businesses and are planning to grow, transition, or sell, and will offer guidance on effective ways to introduce EOS concepts to clients in a natural and value-added manner.
Learning Objectives:
Meet your Speaker: With more than 30 years of operational and leadership experience across large organizations like Nike, several small and mid-sized businesses, consulting roles, and as a co-owner of two companies, he brings a broad and practical business perspective. After implementing EOS in his most recent company and experiencing its impact firsthand, he committed fully to mastering EOS and helping other business owners and leadership teams do the same. He is passionate about supporting leaders in becoming their best and building lasting value in their businesses. He has lived in Portland since 1996, is married with two children (19 and 20), and holds a BBA from the University of Wisconsin and an MBA from the University of Texas.
