This is not just a Portland economic forecast! Josh joins us to talk all things economy-related for our cities and counties across t he State. Now being several months into current conditions, we have a uniqu e perspective on where we were, where we actually are, and where we could b e headed. A not-to-miss program for anyone! As national, state and local economies start to open back up, it’s important to remember where th e economy was prior to COVID-19. The presentation will then summarize the i mpacts of the disease on the economy to this point. Finally, it will cover how a potential economic recovery might look like. A very timely and pertin ent presentation and discussion!
Financial Professionals and Associates -- anyone interested in the current economic environment and the outlook for Portland and Oregon as a w hole
Josh currently serves as the City Economist for th e City of Portland, Oregon, providing financial forecasts for city budgetin g, as well as advising on a variety of city finance issues. Prior to joinin g the City in 2010, he worked for the Oregon Office of Economic Analysis an d served as Chief Economist in the Colorado Governor's Office. In these cap acities, he has been responsible for forecasting income, sales, and propert y taxes, as well, as tobacco, transportation, and oil and gas revenues. He currently serves as Board Chair of the Portland’s Fire and Police Disabilit y and Retirement Board, as well as on the State Revenue Forecast Advisory C ommittee, Government Finance Officers Association’s Budget Committee, and i s a board member for Willamette University’s Center for Governance and Publ ic Policy. He has a bachelor’s degree from Willamette University and a mast ers degree in economics from the University of Colorado. Additionally, he h as served as adjunct faculty at Portland State University and consulted wit h a variety of partners, including the Northwest Center for Economic Resear ch.
This course is approved for 1 (one) c redit hour of continuing education (CE) through the CFP Board and for 1 (on e) credit hour of continuing education (CE) through the Oregon Insurance Di vision. Application was made to the Washington State Office of the Insu rance Commissioner and denied. Participants must prove participation i n the full extent of the activity for FPA to file on your behalf. Be sure t o provide your appropriate certification numbers on the registration form f or accurate filing on your behalf. Certificates of Participation for indivi dual record keeping will be provided on a request basis.
