Tax Strategies for Appreciated Real Estate Owners

We will discuss leading tax strategies for owners of appreciated real estate including 1031s, DSTs, 721 Exchanges (both direct and indirect), Opportunity Zones, Deferred Sales Trusts, Installment Sales, and Charitable Trusts.

Meet the Speaker: Jeff Walters serves as Senior Regional Director at Hines Private Wealth Solutions LLC, where he oversees raising capital in eight states in the West and has consistently ranked as the top Regional Director. He has held this role since 2012, and similar roles for firms such as The Hartford since 2000. Having an extensive history of working with RIAs and financial professionals, along with their investment portfolios, he has unique insights on best practices in the diligence, implementation and management of alternative investments. Jeff graduated magna cum laude from the University of Washington with a B.A. in business and a concentration in finance and has the designation of Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) and Chartered Mutual Fund Counselor (CMFC®).

It has been designed to educate CFP® professionals on CFP Board’s new Code of Ethics and Standards of Conduct effective July 1, 2024.
